7 PLACES YOU SHOULD VISIT IN OAXACA, MEXICO

1. Ethnobotanical Garden

It is a garden where hundreds of plants native to different regions of the state of Oaxaca coexist and show the impressive diversity of landscapes and climates in the same state. Very pleasant to walk around and discover endless forms of cacti, it is part of the Cultural
Center of Santo Domingo, behind the former convent of Santo Domingo.

2. HOUSE

The San Agustín Etla Arts Center is half an hour from Oaxaca. It is an old building of a factory of yarns and tissues of end of century XIX that was restored between 2001 and 2008 with its materials of origin, green quarry, local stone and red brick. The space is a jewel in the middle of the jungle of the Sierra de San Felipe.

3. Textile Museum

Two blocks from the Zocalo is the Textile Museum of Oaxaca in a large house with one of the most beautiful interior patios I know. The embroideries of different regions are represented in the permanent exhibition, a real source of inspiration for anyone.

4. Market November 20

Inside the market there is an area with "salita" tables attached to the wall in which I invite you to sit, there a waiter will approach with a basket full of meat to choose from. Ordering beef and chorizo is a must, they are typical and delicious. Next you can order sauce, guacamole and cambray onions to accompany.

5. Zandunga

In the region of the Isthmus of Tehuantepec you can eat very well and this restaurant manages to offer a wide range of delicacies of this region of Oaxaca and of great quality. Garnachas, tamales of cambray and elote, stuffing and molotes of bananas are some of the dishes that you can not miss.

6. Mezcaloteca

You can not leave Oaxaca without taking the time to taste a mezcal. In Mezcaloteca you will find one of the largest mezcal selections of the country, not only mescales of Oaxaca but also of Michoacan, Guerrero, Guanajuato, Durango, Zacatecas, San Luis Potosí and Tamaulipas, the only regions in the world that have Denomination of Origin For mezcal production. It is actually a civil association formed by lovers of the distillery that created this place.
