Iztlazihuatl NATIONAL PARK, POPOCATEPETL,

The Izta Zoquiapan Popo National Park is one of the oldest protected areas in Mexico. It was created in 1935 in order to protect the mountains that make up the Sierra Nevada in the eastern center of the Transverse Volcanic Belt, and declared a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve in 2010 Volcanoes.  Iztaccihuatl and Popocatepetl, second and third highest peaks in the country, are the quintessential icons of Mexican natural landscape.
