SAN JUAN DE LOS LAGOS, MIRACLES AND PLACE OF PILGRIMS

Pilgrims start arriving the place for nine days before the celebrations begin around the Virgin of La Candelaria. To enter the sanctuary, whose construction was completed on November 30, 1732 , walking sandwiched between prayers , short prayers , tears, crutches and songs that invade the rooftops , the progress is slow through a forest of crucifixes, Jesus Children of all sizes and images of the Virgin embedded in a bewildering variety of objects whose sales are multiplied during the trade fair which was instituted in 1797.   In the sacristy there are thousands of altarpieces dusty and
crowded with braids , bridal bouquets , professional titles, pictures, letters and spelling .

The city retains magnificent monuments where the baroque, Renaissance and Neoclassical styles are appreciated : parish of San Juan Bautista (1653/1693) , Chapel of the First Miracle (1533/1535) , the Meson de la Virgen ( current school Rita Moreno Pérez ; 1767 ) and the Post Office (now House of Culture ) are just some of the 22 notable buildings to be found . The interiors have a varied architectural configuration and aesthetic details show his purpose , are not made for a quick glance .  

  Location : San Juan de los Lagos is located in the State of Jalisco and appears as hidden in a hole in the hilly region of Los Altos de Jalisco. This state is in the western part of the country.

  Directions : By Car : transit through the Mexico -Queretaro - Leon and follow the federal highway 45 , in Lagos de Moreno deviation leading to San Juan de los Lagos by the Federal Highway 80 is , by bus you can travel with Futura, Red Los Altos, Chihuahuenses , Flecha Amarilla Primera Plus , Omnibus de Mexico National Terrestrial or links .

climate: It has three types of climates : high temperatures warm , moist air and summer rains , the second is a temperate climate, little heat and has summer rains , and the third is the semi , sparse rainfall and the heat is excessive.  

When to go: All year is season, but La Candelaria festivities are from January 23 to February 2 .
