CANCUN TRAVEL WITH LITTLE MONEY

For many know Cancun is a dream and really worth doing so. The first time I visited Cancun was in 1994, then the only beaches I had known were those of Acapulco 2 hours away from Mexico City. My expectations were not very big, but when I started riding the bus down the avenue that runs through the hotel zone of Cancun these grew gradually as hotels let me glimpse of the turquoise sea.

After about 15 minutes trip, a friend and I arrived Plaza Kukulcan, we got off and crossed the street, walked through a
sand road towards the beach and after climbing a small hill in front of me had the most spectacular beach I had seen at that time in my life. The sea was blue tone between turquoise and light blue and soft white sand. My friend and I (who incidentally had never known the sea) were so amazed that we did not talk for a few minutes. We took off our shoes and we only got the sea.

At that time I have that experience cost us about $ 2, (what we paid to ride the bus back and forth). I'm about to turn 20 years of living in Cancun and at home I can give you some tips so that you too can learn and enjoy Cancun on a budget:
Where is Cancun?

To start you need to know a little about the geography of Cancun, its location and how easily move and what we want: with little money. Cancun is one of the most expensive tourist destinations in Mexico, both to live and to visit. But as elsewhere, there are secrets that you do not say travel agents. (Oops! A moment, this blog is a travel agency, do not go to say).

Cancun is located about 70 kilometers north of Playa del Carmen, Quintana Roo, practically on the northeastern tip of the Yucatan Peninsula. The tourist zone includes about 22 miles of beaches that run parallel to the known as the Boulevard Kukulcan Avenue. Most of sight and entrance to these beaches are blocked by the hotels. However there are several points along these 22 kilometers where there is direct access to the beach area and some have infrastructure such as toilets, palapas and showers.
to get

This is something you should definitely decide on your place of origin What would be the most economical way for you transfer to Cancun ?, bus, plane or car. You should research on your own and I do not know where you're reading this, but what I can do is give you some tips:

If you travel by plane: It is flexible regarding your travel dates and traveling light (less than that recommends the airline), remember that in addition to avoid paying for excess baggage when returning'll bring some souvenirs with you without worrying overlimit. This post can help you more.

If traveling by bus: If traveling with students or are a student (Mexican) in holiday season these are discounted, also if traveling with people over 65 years recomiéndales process your credential INSEN the latter discounted bus tickets can be up to 50%.

If traveling by car: Internet Consultation toll costs and what you can spend on gasoline. This last option is sometimes not the cheapest, but the best live near Cancun and want to take it into account.
lodging

Imperial Laguna Cancun

The hotels located at the entrance of the hotel regularly area are cheaper (KM 1 to 4 approximately) beaches are good but they are quieter. The hotels built here are also the oldest. If you're not picky you can stay in a hotel of these, some are all-inclusive, others will include breakfast and other room only. I recommend you choose a plan with breakfast included at least since in this part of Cancun there are not many restaurants and have to move to another place to find where to eat if you want to do so in the hotel restaurants. Opt for a package including breakfast will leave you enjoy the beach without worrying early breakfast the day.
¿Playa or City?

Staying in downtown Cancun can also be an excellent choice especially if you want to always eat out. The downtown hotels are surrounded by stores, supermarkets and shops where you will make it easier to eat or buy you need to prepare your food. The only drawback is that to go to the beach will have to do in any of the points raised as public beaches along the 22 kilometers of Kukulcan Boulevard. But do not worry! In this map you can see all public beaches in Cancun.

As comment if you realize Cancun is an island shaped 7, the quietest beaches are located on top of this issue, while moderate to strong waves are the longest part thereof, which by pass in the latter area are the most spectacular.
How to get around the city

as cancunEn move in terms of transport if being thrifty is most economical in Cancun are public buses that go from the city to the hotel and back area. Inside the hotel zone will not have problems because buses practically all day round trip. In the city the buses stop running around 11pm. The price of these is nearly $ 1 (8.50 Mexican pesos as of July 2013).

If for example you want to go to Isla Mujeres cheaper for you would go to Punta Sam, in the hotel area there are buses that take you to the pier of Punta Sam, but they are very few and may not delay up to 1 hour waiting any . It is best to come down to Tulum Avenue in the downtown and expect urban transport (6.50 pesos) that goes to Puerto Juarez or Punta Sam. In Puerto Juarez crossing is made using modern ferries, whose ticket round trip leaves you about 100 pesos, while in Punta Sam is done via ferry goods and cars, this is cheaper but a little slow, but if it comes to venture worthwhile. Hours may vary according to the season but the schedules can check here.

If you want to travel to some point near Cancun and Playa del Carmen Valladolid, Merida or the best option is to take a bus directly to the terminal from downtown Cancun (ADO), buses first, second and third class. Depending on your plans and budget and I'll leave it to your choice.
Walks and tours

rides

If you are adventurous you can do all the tours on your own. But here I recommend if you hire them as a package. The truth is that all parks both in Cancun and the Riviera Maya handle fixed rates, so it is best to negotiate with travel agencies to hire package tours and improve a little price we would get if we contract directly with Xcaret or Xel-Ha by example. These can give you a fare a little better because they earn based on a percentage of the sale, which is known as "commission" and then obviously they will agree to sell you a complete package of 2 or 3 walks with your respective discount .
