This national park covers an area of 25.679 hectares and covers parts of the states of Mexico, Puebla and Morelos. Volcanoes, majestic and imposing, were admired and feared by the ancient inhabitants of Mexico, who wove stories around them, amounted to

Iztaccihuatl
Its name in Nahuatl means "white woman" or "Sleeping Woman", and due to its shape is similar to that of a woman lying. Its altitude ranges between 5,280 and 4,741 meters. Among the preshipánicos inhabitants it was considered one sacred mountain. its caves reveal the cult Iztaccihuatl and his party among the Nahua coincided with Tlaloc.
