PLACES YOU CAN VISIT NEAR OAXACA


Oaxaca has impressed travelers from all over the world due to its magical landscapes and unique traditions a place. It is a true jewel of the southwest of Mexico so in this post we share places to visit near Oaxaca de Juárez.

Eco Tourist Center Benito Juárez

Located in one of the highest points of Oaxaca orography (3050 meters above sea level). This site offers its visitors multiple natural attractions...
among which its lush coniferous forest vegetation, various varieties of pine, oyamel, oak, madroños and ahiles, and a great variety of flora. The Benito Juárez Eco Tourist Center belongs to an area operated by the Commonwealth of Oaxaca. They are a community organization that integrates the first network of hiking and mountain biking routes in Mexico. Local communities participate in each stage of the project and in the Directing Council.

Mitla

Mitla is characterized by its ornate constructions with mosaics of freckles of the same type but with stylistic variations and by the cruciform tombs that have been found under the palaces, in which great characters and priests were surely buried. According to some scholars, its architecture received a strong influence from the Mixtecs, especially in the use of frets as ornamental motifs in the facades of the buildings and in the spatial distribution of the sets, which is different from that of the rest of the architecture of the Oaxaca Valley

Boil the water

Another unmissable place to visit near Oaxaca is Hierve el Agua. A true wonder of nature. This natural place consisting of two petrified waterfalls (calcium carbonate) formed, for thousands of years, by the runoff of carbonated water. From the springs, the water descends by more than 50 meters high. There is only another similar formation on the planet and it is found in Turkey.

Salinas San Pablo Güilá

It is a source of sulphurous and saline water, rock formations by water runoff and two freshwater pools, which are fed by natural wells that are around them.

Monte Alban

Located just 10 km from the current city of Oaxaca, Monte Albán is the most important archaeological zone of the Oaxaca entity, unique for the religious, political and economic control that the Zapotec culture exerted over the Oaxaca Valley for more than thirteen centuries .
